A Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus conductor frustrated over erratic disbursement of salary, allegedly died by suicide in Jalgaon on Monday. The victim's family has reportedly claimed that he was not getting salary on time in last three months which forced him to take the extreme step. News agency ANI quoted the father of deceased saying that his son who used to work for the MSRTC, was posted at the Jalgaon depot. "He was dealing with loans & used to get erratic and low salary and committed suicide because of it."



Besides the father of the deceased man, his brother also confirmed the incident and blamed the Uddhav Thackeray government responsible for his death.

"For last 3 months he didn't get his salary properly. He has named Thackery govt responsible for his death," brother of the deceased MSRTC bus conductor said.

The tragic incident has come at the time when Covid-19 deaths and cases are continuously on the upswing. Though the state government has resumed several economic activities there were shut due to the Coronavirus induced lockdown, hundreds 0f thousands of people continue to suffer holes in pockets.

As per the health officials, the state witnessed 125 deaths, taking the toll to 45,240 on Sunday. With as many as 5,092 fresh cases, the tally has touched 17,19,858. On the positive side, the state recovery rate increased from 91.53 per cent to 91.71 per cent - while the mortality rate remained stable at 2.63 per cent.
