New Delhi: Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Thursday said that when he met Luxembourg's prime minister in Davos, he had told him that he is a fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He recalled his encounter with the European country leader in Davos at a public event in Mumbai in PM Modi's presence on the stage. The Chief Minister returned from the World Economic Forum meet in Davos on Wednesday and was speaking at the event in which Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 38,000 crore.
“Luxembourg Prime Minister met me (in Davos) and told me that he is a Modi bhakt. He clicked a photo with me and said to show it to PM Modi. I met many people from Germany and Saudi and they asked me if I am with PM Modi. I said I am his man only,” Shinde said.
“I met people from Germany and Saudi (Arabia) who asked me if I was with Modi ji. I told them that I am with him. At Davos there was a lot of positivity about India and Modi ji," he added.
As per news agency PTI, PM Modi later referred to the Maharashtra CM’s remarks in his speech and attributed his fan following to “rising positivity” about India.
"Across the world, there is positivity about India as everyone knows that the country is going forward on the basis of its strength and optimal use of its potential," PM Modi said after inaugurating and laying foundation stone of projects worth Rs 38,000 crore in Mumbai.

There is an “extraordinary confidence” in India and the country is progressing well with its futuristic vision and modern approach, he added.
PM Modi stressed that the new projects launched and inaugurated will help Mumbai improve its standard of living and transform the city and nearby areas.
