New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that the much-awaited airport to be constructed in Ayodhya, will be named after Lord Ram. According to the reports, the Up government has approved a sum of Rs 525 crores for the airport construction in the temple town. The Yogi government has also announced that the airport in Ayodhya will have an international status and that December 2021 has been set as the deadline for completion of the airport.
News agency IANS in its report an official saying that "the government believes that there will be a huge tourist traffic -- both domestic and international -- in Ayodhya when the construction of grand Ram temple is completed. The airport will further facilitate this."
Meanwhile, the proposal for granting international status to the airport will soon be prepared and forwarded to the concerned authorities, source said.
Uttar Pradesh minister for Civil Aviation Nand Gopal Nandi further confirmed the development stating that while the construction for the much-anticipated Ram Temple in Uttar Pradesh's Ayoshya is underway, the Yogi government has approved a sum of Rs 525 crore for the airport construction and a sum of Rs 300 crore has already been spent. According to the report, the process of acquiring more land for the project is underway.

The construction of the Ram Temple meanwhile, will begin after September 17 once the 'Pitra Paksh' period ends. Country's leading construction company Larsen and Toubro is all set to lay the foundation of the historic temple. Last week, Ayodhya Development Authority (ADA) had approved two layouts, one for the grand Ram temple and the other one of the entire Ram Janmabhoomi campus.
The grand foundation stone-laying ceremony for the construction of the Ram Temple was held on August 5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UP CM Yogi Adityanath and several other senior dignitaries had participated in the historic event.
