New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Tuesday adjourned the House sine die at the conclusion of its Winter Session.

Mahajan said the Lower House passed a total of 16 bills including Citizenship Amendment Bill, the Muslim Women Protection Bill, Constitution Amendment Bill that seeks to provide 10 per cent reservation for economically backward people in the general category in jobs and educational institutions, Surrogacy (Regulation) Bill and the Consumer Protection Bill among others. The House had 17 sittings during the winter session of Parliament, which began on December 11.

As LS passed Constitution (124 Amendment) Bill, 2019, Sumitra Mahajan said "I felt good as my children used to ask me 'what about us, what about economically weak, will only caste matter?'. Many questions were answered today. It'll be very beneficial in the long run."
