New Delhi: The Prime Minister while announcing the extension of the lockdown till May 3rd had said that certain relaxation in essential activities will be given to those areas that do not fall under the hotspot areas by April 20. Today several activities have resumed including the functioning of parliament secretariat for which the Ministry of Health has issued special guidelines on the continuation of all precautionary measures.

Several states have announced partial relaxation for essential activities such as construction and farm-related activities. Some states are also allowing vehicular movement in a controlled manner. But these relaxations are not applicable in containment zones.

States that have announced ease in lockdown today

Maharashtra- Despite being a hotspot for the coronavirus in the country the government has issued guidelines for limited relaxation of restrictions from Aril 20- May 3 for industrial and commercial activities these include activities in the supply chain of essential goods, e-commerce goods, etc. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray also said that these regulations will not be applicable to corona containment zones and that precautionary measures such as wearing face masks and social; distancing have to be followed stringently.

Kerala- The state government is set to begin activities in a limited manner and have taken a slew of measures to keep a check. According to reports starting Monday morning, the 14 districts in Kerala will be divided into four zones for implementing the lockdown curbs Green, Orange A, Orange B, and Red. The government has also decided to use the 'odd & even' formula for vehicular movement with exemptions for vehicles driven by women.

Karnataka- The Karnataka government has announced partial relaxation from Aril 21 for traffic movements which will include two-wheelers. Construction activities will also be allowed except in red zones. However, lockdown measures will remain in place till May 3 and precautionary measures such as wearing masks will remain mandatory.

Haryana- The state has decided to resume economic activities in a phased manner. According to a report by PTI select industries that do not come under the containment zones will be allowed to operate. Establishments will have to procure a pass from the government portal SARAL to operate.

Bihar- The state Government declared that all government offices will resume work from April 20 and that all government officers of Group A and B will be present in the office on all working days.

States that will continue with lockdown without relaxation

Delhi- The Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Sunday that there will be no relaxation in the lockdown from Monday as the number of cases continues to rise in the national capital. He also that the state government will review its decision after a week.

Telangana- As cases of coronavirus continue to rise in the state the lockdown has been extended till May 7 without any kind of relaxation for activities. In fact, according to reports by IANS Online food delivery platforms, Swiggy and Zomato have also been asked to shut down operations in the state.

Punjab- The Punjab government also decided to strictly adhere to lockdown till May 3. According to a report by PTI the government has made an exception for wheat procurement.
