Kupwara: Three more civilians including a woman were injured as India and Pakistan troops exchanged fire along the Line of Control in the Rangward Chowkibal area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district. A Top army officer that Pakistan army resorted to ceasefire violation along the LoC by firing small arms and mortars, resulting in injuries to six civilians at separate places. “Army gave a befitting reply,” he added.

The injured in Chowkibal have been identified as Hamida Begum 40 wife Mohammad Akbar, Zakir Khan (24) and Nasser Ahmad Khan 21, all residents of Rangward.
All three injured persons were shifted to SDH Kralpora where the woman has been referred to SMHS hospital Srinagar as her condition is stated to be serious, the officials said.

Earlier as many civilians identified as Mohammad Arif from Shamspora, Mohammad Yaqoob mir from Baghballa Kachadiyan and Syed Rafaqat from Kachadiyan were injured in Tangdar Area.

All the injured have been shifted to hospital, they said. The condition of two of the injured is stated to be serious.
