New Delhi: Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away on Sunday at the age of 92 due to multiple organ failure. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari shared the information of her death through his official Twitter and Koo handles. 


Gadkari wrote: "The country's pride and music world's Shirmor Swar Kokila Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar ji's demise is very sad. My heartfelt tribute to the holy soul. Her passing is an irreparable loss to the country. She was always an inspiration to all the music seekers."






Gadkari visited Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai, where the legendary singer breathed her last. Lata Mangeshkar had been admitted at Breach Candy Hospital for the past 29 days. 





In one of his tweets, Gadkari wrote: "Lata didi was an intense patriot. She has always had a firm faith in the ideology of Swatantraveer Savarkar. Her life has been full of many achievements. Lata ji has always been an inspiration to all of us for good deeds. Her contribution to Indian music is incomparable."


In the same thread, Gadkari wrote: "Like all the countrymen, her music has been very dear to me, whenever I get time, I definitely listen to the songs sung by her. May God rest the departed soul and give strength to the family members. Peace."


Gadkari reached Breach Candy Hospital and paid his last respects to Swara Kokil Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar ji. 






The Union Minister posted a video on Twitter and wrote: "My heartfelt tribute to Swara Kokila Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar ji."






Dr Pratit Samdani, who was treating the singer at Breach Candy Hospital, said that she passed away at 8:12 am, and that she had died because of multi-organ failure after more than 28 days of hospitalisation post Covid-19, news agency ANI reported.
