Lalu's elder son Tej Pratap Yadav resigns as mentor of RJD's students wing
In December last year, he had cried foul over the non-allocation of a separate bungalow to him by the state government as he didn’t want to live with his family members.
Patna (Bihar): RJD supremo Lalu Prasad’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav on Thrusday resigned as mentor of the Rashtriya Janata Dal’s student wing. He made this announcement on Twitter.
In a veiled tweet, he said that those who consider him immature are actually immature.
Tej who has not been in cordial terms with his younger brother Tejashwi had couple of months ago said he was planning to tour Bihar and make youths aware of the ground realities so that they could be mobilised against the RSS-BJP.
His resignation is likely to hit the poll prospects of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
RJD is being led by Tejashwi as Lalu is serving sentences in fodder scam cases and lodged in a Ranchi hospital for a number of ailments.
Tejashwi has emerged as the undisputed leader of the RJD ever since Lalu Prasad was put behind bars in fodder scam cases last year.
Tej Pratap has been detached from politics ever since he filed for divorce from wife Aishwarya Rai last year.
In December last year, he had cried foul over the non-allocation of a separate bungalow to him by the state government as he didn’t want to live with his family members. Tej Pratap has filed a petition for divorce from his wife, Chandrika’s daughter Aishwarya Rai. The two had got married in May last year and Tej Pratap had filed the divorce petition five months later. The party is likely to field Chandrika Rai, father-in-law of Lalu’s elder son Tej Pratap Yadav, from Saran.
