'Didn't Shave Head On Mother's Death, Not A Hindu': Lalu Yadav's Remark On PM Modi Draws BJP's Ire

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav at the 'Jan Vishwas Maha' Rally in Patna criticised PM Narendra Modi for his stance against dynasty politics.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, remarking that he is not a true Hindu. Yadav also claimed that PM Modi criticises dynasty politics because he himself does not have a family. In a video widely circulated on social media, Yadav can be seen addressing a gathering at the RJD's 'Jan Vishwas Maha' Rally in Patna where he criticised PM Modi for his stance against dynasty politics and remarked, "PM Modi does not have a family and is not even a Hindu."

Furthermore, the former Bihar chief minister said, "What can we do if Narendra Modi does not have a family of his own? He keeps bragging about the Ram temple. He is not even a true Hindu. In Hindu tradition, a son must shave his head and beard upon the demise of his parents. Modi did not do so when his mother died", as per news agency PTI.

RJD Leaders 'Behaving Like Political Jokers': Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha Slams Lalu Yadav

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha criticised RJD president Lalu Prasad's remarks on PM Modi, deeming them offensive and disrespectful to centuries-old tradition of Sanatan Dharma. He said that the behaviour of RJD leaders depicted their unserious approach to politics and attempts to undermine the Sanatan Dharma.

Speaking to reporters, Sinha said, "The language used by Prasad, who himself is convicted in corruption cases, against our PM shows his mindset…they (RJD) are against Sanatan Dharma and are trying to destroy the centuries-old tradition", as quoted by PTI.

Sinha further added, "They (RJD leaders, including Lalu Prasad) behave like political jokers. We must stop such forces. It's a well-known fact that what our PM has done for Sanatan Dharma."

Regarding RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav's comments about the deputy chief ministers of Bihar, Sinha labelled the RJD as a party of gimmicks and expressed confidence that the people of the state would not accept such behaviour.

He emphasised the need for leadership that can deliver results for Bihar and criticised Tejashwi's remarks as indicative of desperation.

BJP's Bihar unit also slammed the RJD supremo by terming the I.N.D.I.A. bloc as "anti-hindu".

BJP National Secretary Satya Kumar Y stated, "It's utterly disgraceful that leaders of the INDI Alliance have stooped so low as to launch personal attacks against PM Shri @narendramodi ji."

BJP spokesperson Vinusha Reddy also criticised Yadav's language towards PM Modi, calling it unacceptable. She said, "The language used by #INDIAlliance leader #LaluYadav towards PM #Modi ji is unacceptable!"

Lalu Prasad Yadav's comments targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi come in the wake of PM Modi's scathing criticism of the Congress-RJD alliance in Bihar. Modi, during a rally in Begusarai district on Saturday, accused the alliance of using Dalits and other marginalised sections of society to justify their dynastic politics and corruption.

Dalits and other deprived sections of the society used as a “shield to justify their dynastic politics and corruption,” he remarked. ALSO READ | RJD, Congress Use Dalits, Other Sections As Shield To Justify Dynastic Politics, Corruption: PM Modi

Additionally, PM Modi made indirect references to the land-for-jobs scam case and spoke about Lalu Prasad's tenure as the railway minister in the previous UPA government. He also accused the Congress-RJD combine of betraying social justice.

I.N.D.I.A. Poll Bugle For Lok Sabha Election 2024

In a show of strength, leaders of the opposition bloc I.N.D.I.A. gathered in Bihar's capital for a mammoth rally, signaling the beginning of their campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Rahul Gandhi of the Congress, along with other top leaders, addressed the crowd.

Gandhi accused the Modi government of working for the benefit of a few super-rich individuals and neglecting the majority of the population, particularly Dalits and backward classes. He said, "The Narendra Modi government at the Centre works only for two-three super-rich people and neglects Dalits and backward classes." More On It: Patna Rally: Rahul Stresses Ideological Battle, Kharge's 'Tea' Jibe At Nitish 'Chacha', Modi 'Maama' — Who Said What
