As Maharashtra stares at another lockdown due to the rising number of Covid cases, special teams by the central government inspected areas that have been majorly hit by the Covid second wave. The teams probed and analysed the current situation in Maharashtra and submitted a report to the centre on what are the main reason for this sudden Covid scare in Maharashtra.


The report submitted by the teams talks about the inefficiency of the Maharashtra government in handling the Covid crisis in the state.

The report further says that the teams witnessed various districts where Covid guidelines are being flouted and there is no strict implementation of the restrictions issued by the Central government.


The report said that Maharashtra is facing a huge Covid crisis as there is a lack in tracing people who have tested positive for the virus and patients who are admitted to the hospital do not have an adequate amount of oxygen to provide to the patients. 


The teams visited 30 districts in Maharashtra before submitted the report and said that places like Sangli, Aurangabad, and Satara are not implemented restrictions as it had been decided.

The report also cites that due to the lack of manpower Buldhana, Satara, Aurangabad, and Nanded are witnessing a lack of contact tracing and less oxygen supply.


 The central team reported that in Bhandara and Satara majority of Covid patients are quarantined at home and people who in need of immediate care reach late to the hospital resulting in the death of most of the patients.


There is a surge in those patients who are in urgent need of oxygen but the lack of facility is making them suffer.


Maharashtra on Sunday reported over 63,000 new coronavirus cases in its highest ever single-day surge along with 349 deaths, Mumbai 9,989, Pune 12,377 in the last 24 hours.
