Varanasi: In a big blow to ABVP, the NSUI swept up votes and on Sunday won all the posts in the student union elections of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University in Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.


Krishna Mohan Shukla of the NSUI was elected as the president of the students' union, Ajit Kumar Choubey as the vice president, Shivam Choubey as the general secretary and Ashutosh Kumar Mishra as the library minister.

After the win, NSUI tweeted 'After Kashi Vidyapeeth in PM Modi's parliamentary constituency Varanasi, NSUI won a grand victory in all the posts and all the 7 faculties at Sampurnanand Sanskrit University.' 


They further said 'The message from the students is clear that they are with those who fight for the interests of the students and not those who defraud and commit violence.'


According to PTI, District Youth Congress president Vishwanath Kunwar said the youth has given a befitting reply to the BJP and made it clear that they want a regime change.


Varanasi Congress' in it's congratulatory tweet said "Sampurnanand Sanskrit University Students' Union election @nsuivaranasi. Won the victory, all the candidates won, the ABVP sweep. Recently, in the Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth elections, the NSUI had beaten up the federally funded Vidyarthi Parishad and today it's Sampurnanand"





Meanwhile, Indian National Congress tweeted "Heartfelt congratulations to our student organization NSUI for the grand victory in the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University Students' Union elections. This victory of the NSUI has proved that hatred and violent ideologies create a lot of conspiracies, but in the end only truth and non-violence prevail. #NSUISweepsVaranasiAgain"
