At least 14 people were killed and 10 others injured in an accident between a bus and a truck near Madhapuram village in Andhra Pradesh's Kurnool on Sunday early morning. According to reports, a tempo-lorry collided in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, and eight women and 1 child died in the mishap.

According to a report by PTI, the mishap took place near a village in Veldurti Mandal of the state's Kurnool district. The minibus, which was carrying 18 people, hit the road divider at a high speed, fell over the divider and collided with a lorry coming from the opposite direction, on the other side of the road.


Apparently, the driver of the bus apparently lost control and the vehicle first crashed against the road median.


Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has expressed shock over the accident and has instructed officials to expedite relief work and medical help. Reddy conveyed his condolences to the family members of those who have died and wished the injured a speedy recovery.


"The Chief Minister instructed the concerned officials to expedite relief and medical help and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family members and wished speedy recovery of the injured," a statement from CM Jagan Mohan Reddy's office said.




2 days earlier, eight people were killed and several injured when a bus carrying over 30 passengers fell into a gorge at Anantagiri near Araku in Visakhapatnam district.
