RG Kar Doctor Death: As the nation awaits justice for the junior doctor who was raped and murdered at Kolkata's state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital last week, the Central Bureau of Investigation has taken the reigns of the matter and begun the probe amidst the prevailing uproar. In an exclusive interview with ABP News, the parents of the victim spoke about their daughter, PM Modi referring to the incident in his Independence Day speech, and how they are "waiting for justice" while the CBI is investigating the matter.
The victim's parents broke down as they recalled the horrifying night when the incident took place on August 9. They told ABP News that the last time they saw their daughter they too had sacrificed their lives with her. "Everything is over for us," they said.
With hundreds of medical professionals protesting nationwide against the doctor's murder at the state-run hospital, demanding punishment for the accused, and security assurance for other doctors and nurses, the victim's parents said that they are aware they are not alone in this fight and that "crores of people are with us".
"We are waiting for justice," they said.
On being questioned if they had faith the government will help deliver justice for their daughter, the victim's father said: "We will have to trust someone...The High Court has given the matter in CBI's hands. The probe will be carried out under the court's attention."
"Look what the people of the country are doing. I lost one daughter but i got crores of children in her place," he said.
They also spoke about Prime Minister Narendra Modi mentioning the incident that happened with their daughter in his Independence Day speech at the Red Fort today.
PM Modi had indirectly referred to the Kolkata doctor rape and murder and called for a strict punishment at the earliest for those who commit such "monstrous deeds". He had stressed the importance of instilling the fear of punishment in these criminals and also called for speedy investigation in crimes against women.

"Our daughter had mentioned the troubles she faced in the hospital and also in her office," the victim's parents told ABP News.
Betting their hopes on the government for their daughter's justice, the couple said that the CBI stated answers will come soon from the investigation, which is being conducted by them.
