Kolkata: 26-Year-Old Woman Gang-Raped At Home; Rs.15 Lakh Looted

According to the victim’s complaint, the miscreants broke into her home at Paharpur Road on Tuesday afternoon.

Kolkata: A 26-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by 2-3 miscreants in her Kolkata home on Tuesday afternoon.

The men broke into her house at the Garden Reach area and stole 15 lakh rupees.

According to the victim’s complaint, the miscreants broke into her home at Paharpur Road on Tuesday afternoon. When she tried to stop them, the men tied her and allegedly raped her in the bedroom. Her parents and brother were not at home and the men took the opportunity that to rob about 15 lakhs worth of cash and gold from the almirah in the adjoining room.

Sources said that the event occurred on Tuesday between 12 and 1 p.m. when the woman was alone in the house. Her parents had gone to work in a garment factory, and the door to the flat had been locked from the outside.

The detective department has taken up the case started at Garden Reach PS vide Case no. 78 dated 08.07.21 U/S 450/455/34, 394 & 376D IPC. The forensic team has also reached the spot on Wednesday morning.

No one has been arrested till now.
