New Delhi: At least 23 MBBS students of civic-run King Edward Memorial (KEM) Hospital in Mumbai, Maharashtra tested positive for Covid-19. All of the students had received at least one dose of the coronavirus vaccine.

While speaking to the media, Mayor Kishori Pednekar said that it may have spread due to some cultural or sports event held in the college.

She mentioned how such reports are a matter of great concern and that the Chief Minister of Maharashtra has repeatedly asked people to follow the protocols even if fully vaccinated but people seem to keep ignoring the advice.

Earlier on Thursday, Pednekar announced strict standard operation procedures (SoPs) for reopening of school for classes 5 to 12 from October 4, 2021.
