As Prime Minister Modi announced the roll-back of three controversial farm laws, the main opposition, Congress party has decided to hold rallies across the country to celebrate the 'victory of farmers'

Congress will celebrate 'Kisan Vijay Diwas' across the country today in view of the decision to withdraw all three central agricultural laws. The party will hold rallies and organize meetings from place to place.

All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary, KC Venugopal has asked all state units to organize candle marches on November 20 at the state, district, and block-level to celebrate 'Kisan Vijay Diwas' in honor of farmers who lost their lives during rallies and agitations.

"Let us extensively organise programmes to join the nation in observing this as a historic victory of the farmers. Mark the victory of the farmers' struggle by visiting families of shaheed farmers in our areas," Venugopal said in a letter to party's state unit chiefs.

The PM said on Friday said, "I want to say with a sincere heart and with a pure heart, while apologizing to the countrymen, that perhaps there must have been some deficiency in our austerity, due to which we could not explain the truth like the light of the lamp to the farmers themselves."

The farm laws that were passed in September 2020 faced serious criticism from farmers. Farm organisations had called for a 'Chalo Dilli' protest in November 2020. Since then, the farmers have been sitting on the borders of Delhi.
