Thiruvananthapuram news: A 25-year-old woman, identified as Indhika, a native of Kolachal Konnammoodu, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her husband’s residence in Palode on Friday. Indhika and her husband, Abhijith, who had been in a relationship for two years, tied the knot just two months ago.

On Friday, when Abhijith returned home for lunch, he reportedly found Indhika hanging from a window grill in their bedroom, according to a report on Manorama. At the time of the incident, only Abhijith's grandmother was present in the house.

Initially, Indhika was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead. Following this, Indhika's body was moved to the mortuary at Nedumangad District Hospital.

Later, the Palode police have registered a case of unnatural death and started the investigation. According to the preliminary investigation, Indhika was an employee at a private laboratory in Palode. According to her family, Indhika began facing harassment soon after her marriage. They also alleged that her husband and her in-laws allegedly prevented her from visiting or contacting her side of the family. They also alleged that she was subjected to domestic abuse.

Abhijith, an employee at a private vehicle company, reportedly married Indhika at a temple two months ago. The couple got married after Indhika came out of her parental home, according to reports in local news. Police have stated that Abhijith had no interactions with Indhika's family. They have also launched a detailed investigation to uncover the circumstances leading to her death.

Meanwhile, the authorities are awaiting the postmortem report to ascertain the cause of death and are recording statements from Indhika's relatives and close associates. The probe will focus on allegations of domestic violence and other potential contributing factors.
