New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a one-day to Karnataka, held a 2-kilometre long roadshow in Mandya district today. PM Modi showered with flowers by BJP supporters and locals as he holds road show in Mandya. After the roadshow, PM Modi will dedicate to the nation Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway and IIT Dharwad and will lay the foundation stone for various projects.
At around 12:15 PM, the Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation, the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway. The project involves 6-laning of the Bengaluru-Nidaghatta-Mysuru section of NH-275.
The 118 Km long project has been developed at a total cost of around Rs 8,480 crores. It will reduce the travel time between Bengaluru and Mysuru from around 3 hours to about 75 minutes and will act as a catalyst for socio-economic development in the region, read the statement by the Prime Minister’s Office.
He will also lay the foundation stone for Mysuru-Kushalnagar 4-lane Expressway. Spread over 92 kilometres, the project will be developed at a cost of around Rs 4,130 crores and will help halve the travel time from about 5 to only 2.5 hours.

Later in the day at around 4 PM, Modi will reach Hubballi-Dharwad where he will inaugurate the Indian Institute of Technology Dharwad, the world's longest railway platform at Shree Siddharoodha Swamiji Hubballi Station, and will lay the foundation stone of various development projects. Karnataka is slated to go for Assembly polls later this year.
