JP Nadda Elected Unopposed As The National President Of Bharatiya Janata Party

Nadda has replaced Amit Shah who is currently serving as Union Home Minister in the Narendra Modi Cabinet.

New Delhi: Jagat Prakash Nadda was elected unopposed as the BJP national president on Monday after he emerged as the only leader in the fray following the nomination process in which his candidature was endorsed by top party leaders. Senior BJP leader Radha Mohan Singh, who was the in-charge of the organisational election process, made the announcement at the party headquarters in the presence of several leaders including outgoing president Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and Nitin Gadkari. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also arrived at the BJP headquarters to attend the felicitation ceremony of Nadda. He is also scheduled to address the leaders and party-workers present at the event. Nadda will serve as the party chief for three years. Shah and other senior leaders congratulated the Himachal Pradesh leader, who had been serving as the party's working president. Speaking at the felicitation ceremony, former party chief Amit Shah enlisted the achievements of the party and credited the success to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Prime Minister Modi congratulated Nadda on his election as BJP chief. "Be it as a young Party Karyakarta, MLA, Minister in Himachal Pradesh or Organisational duties at the Centre, MP and Union Minister, JPNadda Ji has added value to any responsibility he has held," he tweeted.
