Jharkhand Mukti Morcha executive president Hemant Soren on Thursday was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand for the third time. This comes a day after former CM Champai Soren resigned from the post, paving way for Hemant Soren to reclaim his CM post once again. Governor CP Radhakrishnan administered the oath and office of secrecy to Hemant Soren at 5 pm at Raj Bhavan, Ranchi.

Earlier today, Hemant Soren along with a few I.N.D.I.A bloc leaders visited the state Governor CP Radhakrishnan at Raj Bhavan, where the Governor had invited Soren to form the government.

After taking oath as Jharkhand CM, Hemant Soren said: " From 2019, the present 'Mahagathbandan' govt has done all the work as per the interest of the people here. During the political ups and downs, Champai Soren took forward those initiatives, because I was in jail...because of the court's order, I could come out..."

"Court's decision is in the public domain. I am outside the jail because of the court's decision. By taking charge, the work will be carried out again," the JMM executive president added.

Besides Champai Soren and Hemant Soren, the ruling coalition delegation that met the Governor included state Congress in-charge Ghulam Ahmad Mir, RJD minister Satyanand Bhokta, state Congress president Rajesh Thakur, CPI(ML) legislator Vinod Singh.

The JMM, earlier in the day, stated that Soren would take oath as the CM on July 7. However, the JMM-led coalition later decided that Soren would take oath on July 4.
