J&K: Three persons were apprehended along with arms and ammunition at Sadhana Pass in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Sunday.


Sources said that during Naka checking which was laid by a joint team of Army’s 7 RR, SOG Kupwara apprehended three persons at Sadhana Pass.

The official said two vehicles were also seized which were coming from Tanghdar towards Kupwara town.

While sharing further details the official said during checking arms and ammunition were also recovered from their possession include 1 AK 47, 10 packets of Brown sugar besides other ammunition.

The officer identified the trio as Ameer Amin Shiekh son of Mohammad Amin Shiekh of Hajibar Tangdhar, Bashir Ahmad Shiekh son of Ghulam Ahmad Shiekh and Faizan Bashir Shiekh of Bhatpora Tangdhar.

Sources say that a cross border link and connection with the earlier drugs hail is being worked at.

"10 Kgs Of brown sugar Ak47 rifle, 02 pistols, 20 Grenades & other ammunition have been recovered by a joint team of Army & Kashmir Police during checking from Sadhna top Kupwara in North Kashmir. 3 persons have been arrested, 02 vehicles seized & some more arrests are expected," - J&K police PRO informed.
