Bihar Politics: Former Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha has resigned from all positions of the Janta Dal United (JDU) and has announced his own party named 'Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal'. Addressing a press conference in Patna, Kushwaha confirmed his resignation from Nitish Kumar's JDU.

Kushwaha said, "A new political inning begins today. Barring a few, everyone in JD(U) was expressing concern...Meeting was held with elected colleagues and a decision was taken."

He added that CM Nitish Kumar did good work in the beginning but in the end, the 'path on which he started walking is bad for him and Bihar'.

What Kushwaha Said In Press Conference

- I informed about my decision to CM Nitish Kumar and JDU President Lallan Singh in the morning.

- Nitish Kumar takes decisions on the advice of a few persons.

- We came with him after the 2020 elections abiding by the public's decision.

- JDU leaders and workers are troubled due to the present situation.

- Start with Nitish Kumar was good but the end has been really bad.

- He is working to benefit Lalu's family and the alliance has moved away from its purpose.

- First, an alliance with BJP was made. When the decision to come out of the alliance was taken, we were with him. Then a deal with RJD was made and Nitish Kumar himself presented an RJD leader as Bihar's CM.

- When I spoke within the party and in the legislature party meeting, Nitish said that Kushwaha can go wherever he wants to go.

- Then I had said, Kushwaha will go with his share but Nitish ji has put everything on the mortgage.

- Earlier Nitish Kumar used to take decisions. Nowadays, he does not take any decisions by himself.

- Nitish had said in the public domain that Lallan Singh and Vijendra Yadav made him join the alliance. This means he has been surrounded by some people who are taking all the decisions.

Kushwaha convened a two-day open session of JDU workers in the city on February 19 and 20 in which he sought suggestions from party workers for future political strategy.

While talking to ABP News, Upendra Kushwaha said that friends from all over Bihar will come and he (Upendra Kushwaha) will take a decision according to their orders. When asked where he sees the future of JDU in the present circumstances, Kushwaha said that no one can stop JDU from getting ruined.

On the question of whether Narendra Modi is going to be overwhelming in 2024, Kushwaha said that there in no unity among the opposition parties and in this case it will be easy for PM Modi to win. The second big thing Kushwaha said is that Tejashwi Yadav is 'defacto CM' in Bihar.
