J&K: Terrorists Kill Civilian In Srinagar's Bohri Kadal Area, Second Targetted Attack In 24 Hours
The incident comes after a policeman identified as Constable Tausif Ahmad was shot dead by terrorists in the Batamaloo area of the city on Sunday.
New Delhi: Terrorists on Monday shot dead a civilian in Srinagar's Bohri Kadal area. This is the second attack carried out by the ultras in the city in the past 24 hours, officials said, as reported by news agency PTI.
According to officials, militants fired upon Mohammad Ibrahim Khan, a resident of Bandipora district, at Bohri Kadal around 8 pm. The victim was then rushed to a hospital in a critical condition where he succumbed.
He worked as a salesman in the nearby Maharajgung, officials said.
Meanwhile, security forces have cordoned off the area to trace the attackers and an investigation is underway.
Former J&K Chief Minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah condemned the killing as he wrote: "The dastardly killing of Ibrahim is reprehensible & I unreservedly condemn it. Unfortunately Ibrahim is the latest in a series of targeted killings in the valley, especially Srinagar. May Allah grant him place in Jannat".

The incident comes after a policeman identified as Constable Tausif Ahmad was shot dead by terrorists in the Batamaloo area of the city on Sunday.
"At about 8 pm, terrorists fired upon JKP Constable Tausif Ahmad near his residence at SD Colony, Batamaloo," the officials had said, as quoted by PTI.
They informed that the cop was critically injured and was taken to the SMHS hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Targetted Civilian Killings
Jammu-Kashmir has been witnessing a worrying trend with targetted killings of civilians.
In October, the total number of victims who died in the targetted civilian attacks in the union territory reached 11 after four more non-locals were shot dead.
Two non-local residents were killed and another sustained injuries when unknown gunmen fired upon them in the Kulgam district of south Kashmir on October 17.
Police said the gunmen fired at them at Wanpoh, leaving two persons — Raja Reshi Dev and Jogindar Reshi Dev, both from Bihar — dead on the spot and another person wounded.
Earlier, the teachers who were killed on October 7 were identified as Supinder Kour, a resident of Alochi Bagh area in Srinagar, and Deepak Chand, a resident of Jammu. They were working as teachers at Government Boys School, Sangam, news agency PTI reported.
Prior to this, on October 6, three civilians were shot dead by militants within two hours in separate incidents in the Srinagar and Bandipora districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
The victims included Makhan Lal Bindroo, a Kashmiri Pandit and owner of Srinagar's most famous pharmacy. He was shot dead by the assailants from point-blank range while he was at his pharmacy.

Within an hour, militants killed a non-local street vendor in the Hawal area of the city. The vendor, identified as Virender, used to sell bhel puri and was also shot at point-blank range. He died on the spot.
Then within minutes of the second killing, the third victim Mohammad Shafi Lone was shot dead at Naidkhai in Bandipora district in North Kashmir.
Before that, militants had shot dead Majid Ahmad Gojri, a resident of Chattabal Srinagar, at Karan Nagar on October 2.
Later that night, another civilian Mohammad Shafi Dar, resident of Batamaloo, was shot at and injured at SD Colony Batamaloo. He succumbed to the injuries.
