New Delhi: Terrorists on Friday shot at and injured a Special Police Officer at Gudoora village in Jammu & Kashmir's Pulwama district. The victim has been identified as SPO Riyaz Ahmad Thoker. He was rushed to a hospital in Pulwama where he succumbed to his injuries, news agency ANI reported the police as informing. This incident comes after two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists shot dead a Kashmiri Pandit employee in a crowded government office in Budgam district in central Kashmir on Thursday, a targeted killing that drew strong condemnation from political parties and employees' association.

According to news agency PTI, the injured cop was rushed to the Army's 92 base hospital in the city but succumbed to injuries.

This is the second attack by terrorists within 24 hours after 35-year-old Rahul Bhat, posted as a clerk in the Tehsil office in Chadoora under a special employment package for Kashmiri Pandit migrants, was killed on Thursday. Two terrorists, belonging to the Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit, entered the Tehsil office around 4.30 pm when it was full of employees and people, and shot at Bhat, news agency PTI reported.

He was rushed to the premier SMHS Hospital in Srinagar but succumbed to his injuries soon after.

Bhat was living in a migrant colony at Sheikhpura in Budgam district and had around eight years of service.

Bhat is the second Kashmiri Pandit to have been killed by terrorists in the last seven months. A prominent member of the Kashmiri Pandit community, chemist Makhan Lal Bindroo, was shot dead by terrorists on October 6, 2021.
