J&K: Shopian Police Rejects Claims Of Attack On CRPF Troops, Says 10 Jawans Injured In Road Accident
CRPF personnel were injured when their vehicle collided with a truck in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday.
Srinagar: Shopian Police on Tuesday refuted the reports of attack on Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) party and clarified that the army personnel were injured in a road accident after the driver lost control over the vehicle due to some technical fault.
CRPF personnel were injured when their vehicle collided with a truck in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, officials said.
"Information on social media about attack on a CRPF party at Shopian is wrong. A vehicle carrying CRPF troops skidded off the road, turned turtle near Sofipora after the driver lost control over the vehicle due to some technical fault," news agency ANI quoted Shopian police as saying.
"It has been reported that some unconfirmed and mislead information has been circulated on media, mentioning attack on CRPF party at Shopian. It is clarified that the information shared in the media is wrong and is not based on facts," District Police Shopian tweeted.

The Police also informed that 10 CRPF personnel were injured in the accident.
Meanwhile, the death toll in Monday's road accident in Baramulla district rose to two as the driver of the SRTC bus, identified as Abdul Qayoom Shah, succumbed to injuries.
A sarpanch, Fayaz Ahmad Bhat of Gulgam in Kupwara district, had died when the SRTC bus collided with a truck at Tappar in the Pattan area of Baramulla district.
