New Delhi: One police personnel was killed in a grenade action by militants in Qaimoh area of Jammu Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Saturday, said the police on Sunday, reported news agency ANI. The deceased has been identified as Tahir Khan, resident of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, reported the news agency. 


"A grenade incident was reported yesterday night in Qaimoh Kulgam. In this terror incident, 01 police personnel namely Tahir Khan R/O Mendhar, Poonch got injured. He was shifted to GMC hospital Anantnag for treatment where he succumbed and attained martyrdom," Kashmir Zone Police said in a tweet.






Earlier on Saturday, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel was injured after terrorists hurled a grenade at security forces in Srinagar’s Eidgah locality of Jammu and Kashmir. 


"One grenade was lobbed by terrorist(s) towards security forces on Ali Jan road, Eidgah. This caused minor splinter injuries to one CRPF personnel," the Srinagar police tweeted.


The attacks came several days after the Indian Army foiled a suicide attack on an Indian Army base here in which both the terrorists were killed while three Army troops lost their lives.


Four security personnel of the Indian Army succumbed to their injuries following a 'fidayeen attack' (suicide attackers) on an Army camp in Jammu Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Thursday as per a report by news agency PTI. 


Following the attack, two militants were gunned down in the ensuing encounter.

“In a terrorist attack 25 km from Rajouri, two terrorists carried out a suicide attack on an Army company operating base. Both terrorists have been killed while three own troops have lost their lives,” the army officials said, quoted by the news agency.
