The police team has seized narcotics and cash from the residential house of a Handwara man in Bemina area of Srinagar city last evening. Police say that a special police team from North Kashmir's Handwara town raided the house in MIG Colony Bemina Srinagar.

GV Sundeep, SSP Handwara, later clarified that three Lashkar terror associates have been arrested as Handwara police busted the Pakistan sponsored narco terror module. Also Read| Jammu & Kashmir: Body Of Man Found, Day After Gunmen Abducted Him In Shopian

“We have recovered 21KG heroin valued around 100 crore and 1.34 crore Indian currency recovered too. This Hawala module was being investigated. All have been in contact with Pakistan handlers,” he said.

“They (the arrested terror associates) were helping Lashkar terrorists with this money. Connections between Drug dealers and terrorists have been exposed. It’s a very big hawala racket where the money is transferred. Main accused is Iftikhar Andrabi and is a big drug smuggler,” he added.

The drugs seized are heroin, he informed.

Sources said that the total market rate of the drugs haul is over 200 Crore rupees. The cash was recovered from the house of one Peer Islam who is the original inhabitant of Handwara.
