New Delhi:  Two more soldiers injured in the anti-infiltration operation along the Line of control (LoC) in J&K's Keran sector on Sunday have succumbed, defence sources told IANS.


Nine terrorists have been killed by the Indian Army, in the last 24 hours in Kashmir valley, said sources on Sunday. Four terrorists were killed yesterday in Batpura in South Kashmir. All four were involved in the killing of innocent civilians.

Defence spokesman, Colonel Rajesh Kalia told IANS two more soldiers injured in this operation have succumbed to critical injuries. He said the operation is still on in the area.

While five other terrorists were eliminated along the Line of Control (LoC) in Keran sector. Terrorists killed in the Keran sector were trying to infiltrate from across LoC, confirmed Army sources.

In this operation, one Indian Army soldier has been lost his life while two more are critically injured.

Operations to evacuate the injured have been hampered by heavy snow and rough terrain conditions. Operation is still in progress, said Army sources.

"In an ongoing anti-infiltration operation in Keran sector of North Kashmir, alert troops braving inclement weather and hostile terrain have so far eliminated five terrorists attempting to infiltrate across the LoC," defence spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said.

He said in this operation, one soldier has died while two others are critically injured.

"Evacuation of the injured is hampered due to heavy snow and rough terrain conditions," he said, adding the operation was still in progress.
