Jammu and Kashmir: An army soldier was killed and 13 people, including nine army personnel, were injured on October 25 when their vehicle skidded off the road and overturned in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district. The injured, which also included four civilians, were taken to a hospital for treatment. Their condition is said to be stable now.

The accident took place in Kulgam's D H Pora area during an operational move on Friday night, Army's Srinagar-based 15 Corps, also known as Chinar Corps, said in its statement.

"On 25 Oct 24 night, during an operational move in Kulgam district, a vehicle of Indian Army skid and overturned. Tragically, one sepoy lost his life, while few soldiers sustained injuries who were promptly evacuated for medical care. All soldiers are stable," Chinar Corps said, in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Meanwhile, it is being suspected that three-four militants were involved in the terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district on Thursday, which claimed the lives of two soldiers and two Army porters. Another porter and a soldier also sustained injuries in the attack, which took place just six kilometres from the popular tourist spot of Gulmarg.

The terrorists had opened fire at an Army vehicle in the evening on October 24 when it was headed for the Nagin post in the Affarwat range.

On Friday,  massive search operation was launched in the area along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Gulmarg sector. Security forces had deployed drones and helicopters in the area.

While addressing a passing out-cum-attestation parade of the BSF in Srinagar, J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday said "every drop of blood shed will be avenged by our security forces".
