New Delhi: The Border Security Force on Saturday informed that its troops spotted a drone at around 4:45 am near International Border in Arnia Sector of Ranbir Singh Pura under the Jammu district. The drone was forced back to Pakistan's side after 7 to 8 rounds of bullets were fired at it. This comes after a similar incident was reported in the area last week. In the previous incident as well, BSF troops fired at a drone coming from Pakistan in the Arnia area of the RS Pura sub-division and it returned back immediately.
A massive search operation was launched in the area to ensure no weapons or narcotics were dropped by the flying object, news agency PTI reported an official as saying.

"Today in the morning, alert BSF troops observed a blinking light (in the sky) and immediately fired at it in the Arnia area, forcing the Pakistani flying object to return. A combined search operation is being carried out in the area," BSF Deputy Inspector General, Jammu frontier, SP Sandhu said.
Officials stated that the Pakistani drone was spotted by the border guards around 4.45 am and some eight rounds were fired by them to bring it down.
After hovering for a few minutes in the air, the drone flew back, the officials informed as a search operation was launched in the area falling under the RS Pura sector.
This is the second such incident to take place within seven days.
Earlier this week, the BSF shot down a drone coming from the Pakistan side attempting to carry heroin to Punjab's Amritsar. The BSF on Monday said that it recovered nine packets of heroin from the Pakistani drone weighing 10.67 kilograms, foiling the smuggling bid from across the border.
"BSF Punjab Frontier troops foiled another smuggling attempt through Pak drone. Vigilant BSF troops fired at the drone coming from Pak and brought it down. Drone carrying 9 packets suspected to be Heroin (10.670Kgs) in a bag were also recovered," BSF Punjab Frontier had informed in a tweet.
Last month, the BSF had shot down a drone coming from Pakistan in Punjab's Amritsar sector.
