A recently recruited militant of the newly launched TRF has been arrested by a joint team of army and police in Anantnag. The joint operation was done by Anantnag Police and 19 RR at Kapran area of Dooru in Anantnag district on basis of a specific input.

During the operation, forces arrested a categorised active militant of The Reasistance Front (TRF). The arrested militant has been identified as Talib Bhat, resident of Dehruna village, who had recently joined TRF. He was recruited by TRF commander Abbas Sheikh of Kulgam. In fact, a video clip was released when he joined the militant group.

J&K police has called TRF as a “Virtual Terror” organisation as it is seen as a front for Lashkar-e-Taiba. It is a new front of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, a joint effort of Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen.

Earlier this year, PK Sehgal revealed that such efforts are always made by Pakistan in order to present a new face and dodge international pressures regarding the old ones.

In another development, the Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a Lashkar-e-Taiba militant associate in Mandigam Kralgund area of North Kashmir's Handwara on Saturday. Police said that on the basis of specific information regarding the movement of militant associates, Handwara Police along with Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and search operation in the orchards of Village Mandigam Kralgund.

The apprehended person on preliminary questioning disclosed his identity as Akeel Ahmad Parray son of Wali Mohd resident of Mandigam Kralgund. During the personal search arms and ammunition were recovered from his possession, and during questioning he confessed that he was working with militant outfit LeT as an associate.
