The meeting between the two leaders has triggered speculations, with many terming it as ice-breaking move between Sena and BJP. It is also being said that Sena is unhappy with its present situation in the coalition with NCP and Congress.

BJP says meeting was non-political:

However, as per BJP leader Ram Kadam,  MLA of the party for the Ghatkopar West Vidhan Sabha constituency, the meeting between the two was non-political. Speaking to ABP News, Kadam cleared the airs and said that it was for an interview for Saamna, the mouth piece publication of Shiv Sena. Sanjay Raut is the editor of Saamna.

Earlier in the day Raut slammed Bihar government and said that the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and the resultant investigations into the drug cases would be "politicised during the Bihar elections".  "It was a long-planned drama... The Bihar government does not have any developmental or governance issues to speak about... They have started campaigning with posters of Sushant. So, it's obvious why the Sushant case and drugs matters were blown out of proportion," Raut told mediapersons.

The MVA government in Maharashtra has found itself at the centre of massive criticism recently over the lackadaisical attitude in the probe of the death case of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, followed by Raut's verbal spat with actress Kangana Ranaut and the consecutive demolition of her bungalow. The mismanagement of Covid-19 pandemic is also one of the chief reasons why the party is at the receiving end of criticism.
