Officials reported that the vehicle lost control, deviated from the road, and fell into a steep gorge, resulting in the unfortunate accident.
Anantnag Police Says Accident Not A Terrorist Attack
Providing details regarding the incident, Anantnag Police clarified that certain social media platforms have been circulating rumors suggesting that terrorists targeted the army vehicle at Batagund Top, Duru.
However, the police asserted that these claims are entirely baseless. It was emphasised that the incident was not a terrorist attack but rather an unfortunate accident.

In a similar occurrence, four individuals died while two others were injuries after a car traveling from Sonamarg to Kangan deviated from the road at Gagangeer and fell into the Sindh River in Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday (April 28), as per officials. The wounded were expeditiously taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The incident took place around 4 pm when a vehicle carrying nine passengers was on its way to Kangan in the Ganderbal district from Sonamarg, as stated by the police. The vehicle veered out of the driver's control and plunged into the Sindh stream in the Gagangir region of Ganderbal on the Srinagar-Leh national highway.
As soon as the police received information, its team along with SDRF and other forces rushed to the spot.
“On receiving this information PS Gund along with SDRF and other forces started the rescue operation, during which 2 injured persons were shifted to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment, and four bodies were also retrieved from the spot,” Jammu and Kashmir Police said, ANI reported.
Three individuals were still missing from the spot of the accident.
