"These associates were active since 2018 and have worked for many Hizbul Mujahideen cadres. They have carried out many financial transactions for HM cadres, transported huge amount of arms and ammunition to other parts of the valley and were also providing logistic support and shelter to active militants operating in the area," said an official statement.
Earlier in the day, a massive terror plot was foiled in the Valley after the security forces found an explosives-laden car in South Kashmir's Pulwama district. The car reportedly said to be placed at a strategic location to target a security forces' convoy or a defence installation.
Approx 20 kg of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was kept in a blue drum inside the Santro car with fake number plate. A Pulwama-like attack was averted by the security forces after timely detection of explosive inside the car. After 'specific intelligence' inputs, CRPF and police recovered a suspicious car in Rajpora area in Pulwama.
