New Delhi: Two terrorists were gunned down in an encounter by the security forces following a 'fidayeen attack' (suicide attackers) on an Army camp in Jammu Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Thursday, said the army officials on Thursday, reported news agency PTI. Four security personnel have also been killed in the 'fidayeen attack' while some are injured including an Officer , they said. "16 Corps Commander Lt Gen Manjinder Singh is constantly monitoring the situation on the ground. The area is being sanitised," the official told the news agency.

“In a terrorist attack 25 km from Rajouri, two terrorists carried out a suicide attack on an Army company operating base. Both terrorists have been killed while three own troops have lost their lives,” the army officials said, quoted by the news agency.
According to officials and eye-witnesses, the first gunshot was heard around 2 am when the terrorists attempted to breach the external fence of the camp located at Paragal, 185 kilometres from here, as per PTI report.
Additional Director General of Police Mukesh Singh, who heads the Jammu zone, said, "Someone (terrorists of suicide group) tried to cross the fence of the Army camp at Paragal. The sentry challenged them and an exchange of fire took place. In the fierce gun battle, two terrorists were killed." Six Army men were injured in the gunfight. Three of them died.
Singh said additional forces have been sent to the Army camp located around six kilometres from the Darhal police station. He said a search and combing operation was underway.
A day earlier, security forces had killed three militants of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, including Lateef Rather who was involved in the killing of Kashmiri Pandit employee Rahul Bhat in May, in an encounter in Jammu Kashmir’s Budgam district.
