Covid In India: India reports 3,26,098 new COVID 19 cases, 3,53,299 discharges and 3,890 deaths in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that 31,30,17,193 samples tested for COVID 19 up to 14th May 2021. Of these, 16,93,093 samples were tested yesterday.
Karnataka which is the worst Covid-affected state has reported 3,500 Covid-19 related deaths between May 7 and 13, higher than the toll reported in any month since the outbreak of the pandemic last year. The highest deaths were seen in August last year, when Karnataka registered 3,388 deaths.
West Bengal on Friday registered its highest single-day spike of 20,846 fresh COVID-19 cases, taking the tally to 10,94,802, the health department said in its bulletin. The toll rose to 12,993 after 136 more people, including five eminent doctors, succumbed to the infection, the bulletin said.
The Kerala government on Friday extended the ongoing Covid-19 lockdown in the state by a week to May 23, due to the increasing number of infections of the coronavirus disease. The chief minister’s announcement came on a day when Kerala reported 34,694 new cases of Covid-19 and 93 related fatalities on the day, taking the state’s cases tally to 2,085,583 and death toll to 6,243, a bulletin from the state health department showed.
India's COVID-19 tally crossed the 10 million mark on December 19 and in under six months it has doubled, surpassing the grim milestone of 20 million cases on May 4.
