Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Indian youth for their resilience and innovation especially during the hardships while inaugurating the 25th National Youth Festival today in Puducherry via video conferencing.
During his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India considers its youth as a demographic dividend as well as a development driver.
"The world has admitted that India has two limitless power - demography & democracy. The youth of India carry democratic values along with demographic dividends. India considers its youths as development drivers," PM Modi said during the National Youth Day programme.
The Prime Minister highlighted how Indian youths have adopted technology and during the tough phase of lockdown due to covid-19 showed their prowess as more and more startups were introduced.
"Today, India has a strong ecosystem of more than 50,000 startups, out of which more than 10,000 startups were set up in the past 6-7 months amid the challenges posed by the COVID pandemic. Compete and conquer is the mantra of new India," PM Modi said.
PM Modi also said India's youth has a 'can do' spirit which is a source of inspiration for every generation.
"It is the strength of the youth that India has marched much ahead in digital payments. Today, the youth of India is writing a code of global prosperity," he added.
"The year 2022 is very important for the youth of India. Today's youth has to live for the country and fulfil the dreams of our freedom fighters. The strength of the youth will take India to greater heights," PM said during his National Youth Day programme address.
PM Modi also unveiled selected essays on “India of My Dreams” and “Unsung Heroes of The Indian Freedom Movement”. An auditorium known as ‘Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Manimandapam’ consisting of an MSME technological centre and an open-air theatre was also inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
National Youth Festival 2022
The two-day festival will give an opportunity to discuss the issues related to the development and motivate the youth of the country to solve the challenges regarding the same. The National Youth Festival is celebrated to commemorate the Swami Vivekananda Jayanti. The festival aims to give a direction to young minds towards national development.
