India Registers Over 4 Lakh New Covid Infections In Last 24 Hrs Crossing Another Grim Milestone
India became the first country in the world to record 4 lakh Covid cases in a single day.
With 401,993 new COVID-19 cases recorded in the last 24 hours, India became the first country in the world to register over 4 lakh infections in a single day. As many as 3523 new deaths were also reported on the day.
2,99,988 people recovered from the virus.
Indian Council of Medical Research said that 28,83,37,385 samples tested up to 30th April 2021 for COVID 19. Of these, 19,45,299 samples were tested yesterday.

Maharashtra reported 62,919 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 on Friday, pushing the tally of active cases to 6,62,640. The state also reported 828 coronavirus-related deaths in the last 24 hours. The caseload reached 46,02,472, while the death toll rose to 68,813, news agency PTI reported.
The case fatality rate (CFR) among patients in the state now stands at 1.5 per cent as per the latest figures. At the same time, the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients in Maharashtra has increased to 84.06 per cent.
Karnataka's COVID-19 tally surpassed the 15 lakh mark with the biggest single-day spike of 48,296 cases, while 217 fatalities took the toll to 15,523, the health department said on Friday. The previous high in the state was on April 28, when 39,047 cases were reported. Bengaluru Urban alone accounted for more than 50 per cent of the cases on Friday, with 26,756 fresh infections.
Delhi on Friday recorded 375 deaths due to the coronavirus and 27,047 fresh cases with a positivity rate of 32.69 per cent, according to the latest bulletin issued by the city health department. This is the ninth day on the trot that Delhi has recorded over 300 coronavirus-related deaths.
