Fresh Covid Cases In India Surge Past 37K In Last 24 Hours; 648 Death Recorded
India reports 37,593 new COVID19 cases, 34,169 recoveries and 648 deaths in the last 24 hrs, as per Health Ministry.
New Delhi: A day after reporting 25,467 new cases of Coronavirus, the number of fresh cases across India surged past 37k on Thursday. As per the lastest health bulletin issued by the Union Health Ministry, India reported 37,593 new cases of novel Coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
The health ministry informed that India's Active caseload stands at 3,22,327. Active cases account for less than 1% of total cases, currently at 0.99%.

Total vaccinated: 59,55,04,593 (61,90,930 in last 24 hrs)

Country witnessed 34,169 recoveries in the last 24 hours pushing Total Recoveries to 3,17,54,281. With this, the Recovery Rate currently at 97.67%
The Centre further stated that Weekly Positivity Rate (1.92%) is recorded to be less than 3% for last 61 days while the Daily positivity rate (2.10%) less than 3% for last 30 days.
Of 37,593 new COVID-19 cases and 648 deaths reported in India in the last 24 hours, Kerala recorded 24,296 COVID positive cases and 173 deaths yesterday.

Meanwhile, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) reported that a total of 51,11,84,547 samples were tested for Covid-19 up to August 24. Of which, 17,92,755 samples were tested yesterday.
