New Delhi: In what comes as a worrisome develoment, India reported over 47,000 fresh cases of Coronavirus on first of reopening of schools across several states. As per Health Ministry bulletin, as many as 47,092 new Covid-19 cases and 509 deaths were recorded in last 24 hours. 



  • Total cases: 3,28,57,937

  • Active cases: 3,89,583

  • Total recoveries: 3,20,28,825

  • Death toll: 4,39,529 

  • Total vaccination: 66,30,37,334


The Active Caseload is presently 3,89,583. Active cases presently constitute 1.19 per cent of the country's total Positive Cases. Meanwhile, the recovery of 35,181 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients to 3,20,28,825.


Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.48 per cent. Weekly Positivity Rate stands at 2.62 per cent, remains less than 3 per cent for the last 69 days now, reports Centre. 


The Health Ministry informed that the Daily Positivity rate stands at 2.80 per cent. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 5 per cent for 87 consecutive days now.


The testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded. Indian Council of Medical Research in its daily report stated that a total of 52,48,68,734 samples for Covid-19 were tested up to 1st September. Of which, 16,84,441 samples were tested in the last 24 hours


In a significant achievement, India’s cumulative vaccination coverage crossed 66 Crore landmark yesterday. With the administration of 81,09,244vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed the cumulative figure of 66.30Cr (66,30,37,334) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. This has been achieved through 69,60,983sessions.
