With the easing of curfew restrictions and the restoration of Internet services, Nuh district in Haryana celebrated Independence Day on Tuesday under the watchful eye of drone surveillance and robust police security. The district, which experienced violent communal clashes on July 31, is gradually returning to a state of normalcy. In light of recent events, security measures were escalated for the Independence Day festivities, as Transport, Mines & Geology, Elections and Higher Education Minister Moolchand Sharma hoisted the tricolour in the area on Tuesday.

Specially trained law enforcement personnel, including Rapid Action Forces, have been strategically positioned at sensitive locations throughout the district. Enhanced security measures were also implemented along the district's border with Rajasthan.

Incorporating modern technology for surveillance, police utilised drones to monitor any suspicious activities.

“Security has been increased due to the recent clashes, but the situation is completely normal. Police teams are patrolling the district. Security has also been stepped up at borders and vehicles entering Nuh are being thoroughly checked. There will be 24-hour drone surveillance,” SP Narender Bijarnia told IANS.

The restoration of Internet services was a significant step toward normalcy, coupled with a relaxation of curfew hours for 14 hours. Schools, banks, ATMs, and markets have resumed normal operations. To combat misinformation and maintain public order, a team of cybercrime experts is diligently monitoring various social media accounts.

The police's cyber cell is actively monitoring social media platforms to ensure that no inflammatory content, messages, or videos related to the recent communal clashes or the proposed resumption of the Brajmandal Jalanhishek Yatra (a religious procession) are circulated. The procession had been previously halted by a mob on July 31.
