Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president DK Shivakumar’s eldest daughter Aishwarya got officially engaged to the Amartya Hegde on November 19. Amartya is the son of late Cafe Coffee Day founder Siddhartha Hegde and also the grandson of former union external affairs minister and Karnataka chief minister SM Krishna.


The Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa attended the KPCC President DK Shivakumar's daughter's engagement ceremony. The BJP leader attending the KPCC president's daughter's engagement ceremony has grabbed many eyeballs.



The CM was seen offering his blessings to the bride and the groom and both the leaders were seen photographed together which seemed like an important discussion.



The Karnataka CM was also seen exchanging greetings with the former Chief Minister SM Krishna. The ceremony was held at Taj Bangalore near the Kempegowda International Airport. Following his father's demise, Amartya has been taking care of the business affairs of Cafe Coffee Day, while Aishwarya looks after the engineering college Global Academy of Technology, which is run by her father.



Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Shivakumar and Amartya’s family have not planned grand celebrations and a selected people have been invited for the engagement ceremony. The marriage is expected to take place on February 19, 2021.

Aishwarya is the eldest daughter of Shivakumar and Usha and holds an engineering graduate degree.

Notably, while Shivakumar is one of the tallest Congress leaders in Karnataka, SM Krishna, who was earlier associated with the grand old party, had joined the BJP in 2017.associated with the grand old party, had joined the BJP in 2017.
