"Some people were asking me if Hyderabad can be renamed as Bhagyanagar. I said - why not. I told them that we renamed Faizabad as Ayodhya and Allahabad as Prayagraj after BJP came into power in UP. Then why Hyderabad can't be renamed as Bhagyanagar?" UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said while addressing a rally on Saturday.
Counting the abrogation of Article 370, as one of the party’s achievements, CM Yogi further said, "Under the guidance of PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah repealed Article 370, giving full freedom to the people of Hyderabad and Telangana to purchase land in Jammu and Kashmir."
Meanwhile, on Friday, BJP national president JP Nadda conducted various roadshows in Hyderabad. While the party has appointed Bhupendra Yadav national general secretary to manage the party's performance in the GHMC elections.

On the other hand, Telangana CM and Telugu Rashtra Samiti party chief K Chandrashekhar Rao for whom the GHMC election is being termed as prestige battle, earlier on November 23, promised free supply of 20000 liters of drinking water to each and every household from December under GHMC.
The Telangana CM also promised free power to salons, laundries, and Dhobi Ghats and also stated to waive off tax on transport vehicles for the six months during the lockdown period (April-September).
Polls for GHMC will be held on December 1 and counting of votes will be taken up on December 4.
The 150 seats corporate council currently comprises 99 corporators of TRS, 44 of AIMIM, 4 BJP, 2 Congress, and 1 from TDP.
