K Chandrashekhar Rao Telangana Chief Minister and TRS party chief ahead of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections on Monday, promised free supply of 20000 liters of drinking water to each and every household from December under GHMC.

The CM while releasing the list of poll promises for the upcoming GHMC polls said after the schemes will be implemented in the corporate limits, and upon seeing the results, benefits will be extended to other municipalities and gram panchayats in the state.

"After Delhi, Hyderabad is getting such a scheme. From December, free drinking water up to 20,000 liters per month will be supplied. It will benefit 97 per cent of people living in the city. This is only the first step. Next, we are working on supplying water for 24 hours," Rao said.

Polls for GHMC will be held on December 1 and counting of votes will be taken up on December 4.

The CM also promised free power to salons, laundries, and Dhobi Ghats and also stated to waive off tax on transport vehicles for the six months during the lockdown period (April-September).

KCR also requested the voters not to fall for the communal forces, stating the peaceful atmosphere of the city cannot be disturbed.

Hyderabad is a happening city.... What kind of city we want...Unstable city or peaceful one?" he asked.

The Telangana government spent over Rs 650 crore towards relief during the recent floods and is willing to spend more as benefits are yet to reach some more people affected by the rains.

The GHMC which spreads across four districts of Hyderabad, Medchal, Ranga Reddy, and Sanga Reddy, comprises a total of 10 municipalities & 8 panchayats.

The 150 seats corporate council currently comprises 99 corporators of TRS, 44 of AIMIM, 4 BJP, 2 Congress, and 1 from TDP.
