Hyderabad: Minor Girl Returning Home After Party 'Gang-Raped' In Jubilee Hills Area. POCSO Case Registered
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), West Zone, Joel Davi, said the initial probe reveals that the girl and accused are juveniles.
A minor girl was allegedly gang-raped by around four men in Hyderabad's Jubilee Hills area last week while she was returning home from a get-together, reported ABP News. A case of “outraging modesty” was initially filed by the police after the victim's family members lodged a complaint in this regard three days back.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the incident took place last Saturday. The family later told the police that they grew suspicious after noticing minor injuries on the girl's neck. When asked, the victim said some men had "misbehaved" with her while returning home after the party.
Later the police registered a case under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The girl was sent for a medical examination.
The victim spoke of her ordeal after woman officers at Bharosa centre interacted with her.

The 17-year-old had reportedly gone to a pub in the city for a get-together with friends. She left for home at around 5.30 p.m. when some youngsters, whom she had met at the pub, stopped her. The youngsters, who told the girl that they would drop her home, later raped her, the complaint read, reported ABP News.
