New Delhi: In a move to streamline work, the home ministry has turned to a corporate style of working and called upon its forces and agencies to report their daily “work to do” to the ministry.
The new reporting of their daily work has been introduced a few weeks ago after defence chiefs were asked by the home minister Amit Shah to submit their work details every day to the home minister’s office, according to the online publication News18 report.
What does it mean for the forces, agencies under home ministry?
Going by the report, every force, agency, and police, including Delhi Police will need to share their upcoming work on a daily basis with the ministry. The forces are given tasks to be performed every day from their units and a senior officer will then select the best five points and forward to the home ministry.
As per the publication source, all paramilitary forces like BSF, CRPF, CISF SSB, ITBP along with central investigating agencies, which come under the Ministry of Home Affairs, and local police like Delhi Police will be submitting their daily work to the home minister’s office. “All forces, agencies have to compile and submit best or top five works, which they have planned for the day every morning by 9 am to the home ministry,” said the top source to the publication.
Moreover, forces and police agencies will also submit compliance reports to the ministry. "Senior-level officers have been assigned to rigorously send daily work report by 9 am to be reviewed by the top level in the ministry," the official said News18.
The daily reports will comprise work details such as the planned operation, scheduled seminar, special work for the public and visits of top officials to the ministry.
In fact, the source also mentioned that the forces can also mention any operation being planned. “If any force like CRPF, BSF, or any agency has planned an operation in Kashmir or Naxal area, they need to reflect it in the daily plan…," the official told the publication.
The official added, “For example, all paramilitary forces compile internal lists from all its wings/units and a senior officer selects best five work to do, which can be an operation, deployment or a meeting.”
The corporate style of daily reporting has been introduced to help the ministry monitor the daily work of all forces and agencies. “This will help them plan the compliance report and the day better… It has been weeks now since this started and reports reach to the top level,” added the source.
