New Delhi: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday responded to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s jibe of considering Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and RSS as his ‘guru’ and said the latter should go to Nagpur and pay ‘guru dakshina’ to the Indian national flag.

“If he considers it (BJP) guru, then he should go to Nagpur. I want to tell him that he should not consider RSS and BJP as his guru, but the flag of 'Bharat Mata'. He is welcome to Nagpur, he should give 'guru dakshina' before the flag of 'Bharat Mata',” news agency ANI quoted Sarma as saying.

It is to be noted that CM Sarma’s remarks come in the wake of Rahul Gandhi’s jibe at the saffron party where he said he considers the BJP as his ‘Guru’ to understand "what is not to be done".

"I want them (BJP) to attack us aggressively, this will help Congress party understand its ideology. I consider them (BJP) as my Guru, they are showing me the way and training me on what is not to be done," he said.

He further said that he had begun the Bharat Jodo Yatra as any ordinary movement from Kanyakumari to Kashmir but slowly he understood that this yatra has voice and feelings.

"When I started this, I just took it as an ordinary yatra from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. Slowly we understood that this yatra has a voice & feelings. I want to thank people from BJP & RSS, because the more they target us, it helps us in some way or the other," Rahul said.
