After Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi met the 19-year old victim of the Hathras gangrape, Bhim Army Chief Chandrashekhar Azad with his party leaders and Samajwadi Party leaders headed towards the victim's village to meet the family.


While the Bhim Army Chief was stopped midway, UP police lathi-charged the Samajwadi Party workers and RLD leaders who created ruckus near the Hathras village. Chandrashekhar Azad is now marching towards the victim's house.

Several men belonging to the Upper Caste today staged a demonstration in support of the accused and even started stone pelting the police and the leaders who reached the victim's house. Samajwadi Party workers, who were protesting against this group, were lathi-charged and dismissed by the cops.


Many women leaders of the Samajwadi party claimed that the UP police thrashed them badly and even hurled abuses at them. There has been a huge ruckus outside the victim's house, some supporting the victim and demanding justice while others supporting the accused.''

Hathras SDM said that a delegation of not more than 5 people are allowed inside the village. Delegations of the Samajwadi Party & Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) came in, we got 5 names listed & allowed them to go there. Eventually, their workers started misbehaving with women personnel.

A medical team arrived at the residence of the victim of Hathras incident, on the request of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) following a deterioration in the health of her father.

Speaking of the investigation being handed over to CBI, the brother of the victim said that they did not demand such inquiry and they just want the Hatras District Magistrate to be suspended." The victim's family had claimed on Saturday that the DM threatened them and instructed them not to speak to the media and even thrashed them. The family said that they don't trust the UP administration and want justice for their daughter.

Amid continuous outrage, the Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday recommended a CBI investigation into the entire chain of events in the Hathras assault and alleged gangrape case, including her hurried cremation without the family’s presence. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the CBI probe after going through a report submitted by Additional Chief Secretary, Home, Awanish Kumar Awasthi, and Director General of Police H C Awasthy, who visited the victim’s family in their village in Hathras district on Saturday and met local representatives.
