There has been a long-standing demand from the area residents who have to travel either to Safdarjung or All Indian Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in New Delhi as they cannot afford medical facilities at private hospitals. The proposal was passed by the Municipal Corporation  Deputy Commissioner TL Satyaprakash took the initiative to pass the medical college proposal by Municipal Corporation. According to this proposal Corporation will provide Rs 60 crore. In addition, Sheetla Mata Shrine Board agreed to provide Rs 100 crore. The State health ministry has taken over the land from municipal corporation. Haryana government has also issued consultation form and has released a fund of Rs 500 crore for the project.
