On his second day in the poll-bound state of Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched various projects worth Rs 8000 crores at Amod in Bharuch. 


Adressing the gathering, PM Modi stated: "I am happy to announce that now along with industrial development, Bharuch will also be home to an international airport. This airport will play an important role in increasing exports from Gujarat."






Slamming 'Urban Naxals', PM Modi said: "Gujarat will not allow 'Urban Naxals' to destroy life of state's youth."


Highlighting the growth in economy under his leadership, PM Modi said: "When I took over as PM in 2014, Indian economy was ranked 10th in the world, now it has come to 5th position."


In Bharuch’s Amod town, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of projects worth Rupees 8,000 crore. The PM also laid the foundation stone of the Bulk Drug Park at Jambusar, the Deep Sea Pipeline Project at Dahej, phase 1 of Ankleshwar Airport, and the development of a Multilevel Industrial Shed at Ankleshwar and Panoli.


The PM inaugrated 800 TPD Caustic Soda Plant integrated with a 130 MW cogeneration power plant at Dahej, expansion of the existing Caustic Soda Plant at Dahej, whose capacity has been increased from 785 MT/day to 1310 MT/day.


He also dedicated a project for manufacturing over one lakh MT per annum of Chloromethanes at Dahej, a Hydrazine Hydrate Plant at Dahej, IOCL Dahej-Koyali Pipeline Project, Bharuch underground drainage and STP work, and widening and strengthening of Umlla Asaa Panetha road.


Later in the day, at 5:30 pm, PM Modi will visit Jamnagar where he will lay the foundation stones for various projects. 


On his first day of the visit, PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of multiple projects at Modhera in Mehsana which was followed by Darshan and Pooja at Modheshwari Mata Temple, followed by a visit to Surya Mandir.
